Nick is an Associate, Senior Bridge Engineer, and Project Manager experienced in bridge design and analysis. He has held key leadership roles on several large projects nationally, including the Tappan Zee Bridge Replacement (NY, $3.1B), Bonner Bridge Replacement (NC, $249M), and Pennsylvania Rapid Bridge Replacement Project (PA, $900M). He is an expert in large foundation/pier design, and using Soil-Structure Interaction analysis to design cost-effective substructures for large structures. Nick co-authored the HDR Best Practice “FB-Multipier use for Soil-Structure Interaction”, a reference now available to over 600 structural engineers at HDR.
Nick’s ability to manage complex projects has been proven through design leadership roles on large projects with aggressive design schedules. He served as an Assistant Design Manager on the PA Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, focusing on multi-disciplinary technical design coordination to streamline production of the 558 project bridges.
Kenneth A. Crawford, P.E., QCM

Mr. Crawford’s career project experience began as a surveyor and geodesist involved with route alignment control surveys, construction stakeout and base mapping, photogrammetry, and aerial mapping control planning. Projects included major highway geodetic control network planning and observation, precise level networks, and adjustments of survey data using least–squares survey adjustment tools. He has continued his work as a surveyor on numerous projects ranging from site layout, route alignment, boundary retracement, and geodetic control networks using both traditional optical survey equipment as well as state of the art Global Position System (GPS) systems ranging from static surveys through real–time kinematic (RTK) and other code–based and broadcast network correction systems.
James J. Katsafanas, P.E., PTOE

Mr. Katsafanas is an Associate Vice President and Assistant C/ AV and Emerging Transportation Technologies Program Manager. His technical design and consulting experience encompasses traffic signals, ITS, connected and automated vehicles, technology deployment, transportation system management and operations (TSMO), and mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) for many different types of projects, including limited-access highways, complex intersections and interchanges, managed lanes and toll facilities, high-occupancy vehicle and transit facilities, and urban reconstruction projects. He is also versed in systems engineering for ITS and connected vehicle systems and has experience with roadway infrastructure and managing infrastructure design/reconstruction projects, such as interchange and freeway improvements and reconfigurations. Mr. Katsafanas is a standing member of the Transportation Research Board AHB 20 Freeway Operations Committee and is co-chair of the research subcommittee, which focuses on emerging technologies and connected vehicles and infrastructure. He was recently a supporting author of TRB Transportation Research Circular C-218 “Advancing Freeway Operations through Strategic Research”.
William J. O’Donnell, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. W. J. O’Donnell earned a B. S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University where he received Machinery’s Award as the outstanding designer in the graduating class.
He was selected for the Advanced Mechanics School at the Westinghouse Research Laboratories and the Bettis Doctoral Fellowship Program. He received a M. S. and Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. O’Donnell works in the interdisciplinary areas of metallurgy, engineering mechanics and mechanical design. He assumed a lead role in the evaluation of structural integrity and in the analysis of component failure margins in the Naval Reactor Consulting Engineers’ Office.
He progressed to Senior, Fellow and Advisory Engineer, responsible for the Structural Design Basis, which specified the stress, fatigue and fracture design criteria. He has more than 40 years’s experience as a forensic expert in State, Federal and International Courts in failure causation analyses.

Steven Reinstadtler is the Construction Market Manager at Covestro which includes coatings, adhesives, and sealants technologies used in infrastructure. Steven works closely with architects, engineers, specifiers, contractors, and organizations that build with durability and sustainability in mind by promoting high performance options for flooring, architectural, roofing and waterproofing applications. He has been with Covestro for over 30 years in technical and marketing management positions and holds a degree in Chemistry with a Polymer Science option from the University of Pittsburgh. Steven is an active member of professional societies such as AIA, CSI, CPI, ACS, PDA, SSPC, ACA, and ESWP, holds MPI ACT certification and is a past Clive Hare Top Thinker award recipient.

She recommends insurance programs, provides in-house education programs, contract review services and loss prevention consultation to clients, universities and professional associations. She has been a licensed property and casualty insurance agent in Ohio since 1984 and received her Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation in 2004.
