SUMMARY:Win a tour of U. S. Steel’s Edgar Thomson Plant
DESCRIPTION:U. S. Steel is teaming up with Grounded Strategies to raise funds for Grounded’s efforts to revitalize vacant land in Braddock\, Pa.\, and transform it into vibrant\, productive community spaces.  To support these efforts\, U. S. Steel is offering a tour of its historic Braddock steelmaking facility – the Edgar Thomson Plant – as a prize in a Grounded Strategies’ fundraising raffle. One hundred percent of the raffle proceeds benefit Grounded Strategies and their work in Braddock. Learn more about Grounded and their work here. \nWinners will receive: \n\nA package of two or four tickets for a tour of U. S. Steel’s Edgar Thomson Plant on Friday\, October 12\, 2018.  Tour will last approximately three hours and will include a drive-by viewing of the plant’s blast furnace operations\, walking tours inside the plant’s steelmaking facilities (basic oxygen furnace and continuous caster)\, and a brief question-and-answer session.\n\nAll tour participants must be 21 years of age or older and have valid government-issued photo identification to present on the day of the tour.  The tour will involve a fair amount of walking and stair climbing in locations where elevators are not available. Tour participants will also be visiting working areas where air temperatures will be well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.  All safety equipment will be provided by U. S. Steel.
