DESCRIPTION:Rehabilitation of the 9th Street Bridge Project (Rachel Carson Bridge)\nFor almost 100 years Allegheny County Department of Public Works’ 9th Street Bridge has spanned the Allegheny River with its Sisters\, the 6th and 7th Street Bridges.  In 2018 the County\, began a challenging preservation effort of this iconic bridge that concluded in a successful reopening in November 2020.   This presentation will encompass the history\, the distinctive design\, and the rehabilitation phases from design to construction required to sustain this bridge as a part of the Pittsburgh landscape for many years to come. \nPresenters: \nJeanna Fisher\, EIT\, Asst Construction Manager\, Allegheny County Department of Public Works \nCharles E Nelms\, PE\,  Senior Bridge Engineer\, L.R.
