ESWP Programs Committee presents a discussion on Understanding and Managing PFAS Risks.

This webinar will provide an overview of PFAS risks for the potable water and wastewater sectors, existing and emerging regulatory drivers, and promising management and treatment solutions to address PFAS risks.  GHD’s Holly Churman, PE, Steven Brockliss, PE, and Jay Surti, PE will highlight PFAS health and safety needs, current MCLs, and use case studies to showcase solutions for managing risk and treating PFAS in drinking water and wastewater.

Holly Churman is the Service Line Leader for GHD’s Water Treatment and Desalination practice in the Americas. She is focused on advancing the technical excellence of our practice and delivering optimal solutions to our clients. Holly specializes in technology-driven solutions, and is dedicated to helping her colleagues and clients understand complex technical and regulatory challenges and identifying solutions to address them. Holly is a member of the Advisory Council of the International Water Conference, an IDA Fellowship award winner, and a licensed professional engineer. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in environmental engineering from MIT and Stanford University.

Steven Brockliss is a Senior Project Engineer in GHD’s Northeast Water Team. He specializes in advanced water treatment technologies and the removal of PFAS and other emerging contaminants from drinking water. Steven is a licensed professional engineer. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Water Supply Engineering from IHE Delft in the Netherlands.

Jay Surti is the East Region Biosolids Leader with GHD. He is a Professional Engineer with more than 20 years of experience serving the water and wastewater industry, providing innovative solutions to renew aging infrastructure, enhance sustainability and resiliency, and address contaminants of emerging concern such as PFAS. Jay has a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey. His diverse experience includes planning, design, construction and operation of water and wastewater facilities, and is a nationally recognized expert for biosolids treatment and management.
