ESWP Program Committee presents..

April 1 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

A presentation about the infrastructure improvements in downtown and around the NFL draft

Market Square and Arts Landing are the cornerstones of Downtown’s revitalization plan announced in 2024 by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, Allegheny County, City of Pittsburgh, and Urban Redevelopment Authority and Governor Shapiro’s 10-year $600-million-dollar plan to transform Downtown Pittsburgh.

As one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic and heavily trafficked public spaces, Market Square is undergoing a transformation focused on ensuring it remains one of the most vibrant and welcoming places in the region. Designed by renowned landscape architecture firm Field Operations, the transformation includes infrastructure improvements, upgraded pedestrian pathways, enhanced lighting, expanded public seating areas and a new central anchor pavilion structure. The modernization aims to create a more vibrant, accessible, and connected urban civic center that serves more than three million residents, businesses, and visitors annually.

Arts Landing, a new outdoor civic space envisioned by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and also designed by Field Operations, promises to be one of the most transformative projects in the Cultural District in 25 years. The creatively designed and community focused four-acre destination will welcome residents and visitors, host festivals and performances, exhibit public art, and provide opportunities for everyday recreation and relaxation.
