Design Lives Here
March 12, 2018 - March 14, 2018
Volunteer for Design Lives Here!
This middle school program is done in partnership with WQED Multimedia, and is modeled after the television show “Design Squad,” which airs on WQED on Sunday evenings, check it out: http://pbskids.org/designsquad/. Students perform design challenges as part of the STEM curriculum during the school day (or sometimes after the school day). We are in need of engineer mentors to help mentor schools participating in the program. The role of the engineer mentor is to advise the students on the “Design Lives Here” projects they are working on during the day. In addition to the team coaching aspects of the mentor’s role, this is a great opportunity to interact with middle school students who are showing an interest in a future engineering path. We are looking for 2-3 visits (about an hour each).
The following schools are participating in the 2017-2018 program:
Baldwin-Whitehall MS
Blessed Trinity Academy
Elizabeth Forward
Franklin Regional MS
Independence MS
Moon Area MS
Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament School
Propel East
Schiller STEAM Academy
St. Philip School
