ESWP Program Committee presents..

May 28 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

A Tour of the Armstrong Tunnel

The Armstrong Tunnel is a vital link to Downtown Pittsburgh for both motorists and pedestrians, fulfilling the County’s vision when it was built nearly 100 years ago.  In 2022, the Allegheny County Department of Public Works embarked on a rehabilitation project for the tunnel that included structural repairs, cleaning of the stone portals, new tunnel wall lining, a widened sidewalk, new LED lighting system, CCTV, fire detection and suppression and other tunnel life safety features.  Come join the Allegheny County Department of Public Works and the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP) for a tour of the nearly completed tunnel rehabilitation on Wednesday, May 28th at 3 pm!  Tour will start at the Forbes Avenue entrance to the Armstrong Tunnel.

  • Limited to 30 Attendees, register below!
  • Details for parking and PPE will be emailed before the 28th.
  • Free to ESWP Members, non-members $20
