In consideration of being permitted to participate in the IBC Fun Run, I, the participant or the parent or guardian of the participant, agree to assume all risks inherent in participation in such program, whether they are apparent to me or not. I certify that I am at least 15 years of age, in good physical health and fit to participate. Nevertheless, I acknowledge that participation carries an inherent risk of injury and/or illness to my person and/or damage to my property. I understand that the Fun Run track is a public pathway, managed and maintained by the City of Pittsburgh, and therefore cannot be closed for private use. I will obey any and all traffic laws which apply to this track and will maintain awareness of my own person. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to: trips, falls, injuries to joints, muscles, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including extreme temperatures and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, and natural wildlife along the course. I understand that a waiver is required to participate in the IBC Fun Run, and I certify that my participation is voluntary.
I understand failure to comply with these rules, and any additional rules established for my safety, or the safety of others will result in event officials / organizers reserving the right to suspend my participation in the event.
Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, on behalf of myself and on behalf of all others who may attempt to claim through me, and expecting to be legally bound do hereby waive and forever release any and all right and claims for damages or injuries or illness to me or my personal property that I may have against, the organizers of the IBC Fun Run, the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania, Michael Baker International, the city of Pittsburgh, all event sponsors, their employees, representatives and successors and race volunteers. This release includes any and all injuries and/or damages suffered by me before, during or after the event and all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver.
I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, audio and video recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
