The IWC reserves the right of First Publication of any Papers accepted for presentation. If an author has a Paper accepted for presentation, he/she must not submit it elsewhere for publication without the consent of the IWC Executive Committee. Papers submitted should not have been published previously. If a paper is published by the IWC, the paper becomes the copyright property of the IWC. The author acknowledges his/her intent to submit for publication. The submitting author or the employer in the case of a "work made for hire", acknowledges the following:

Author shall retain:
(1) All propriety rights other than copyright (such as patent rights);

(2) The right to use all or part of the paper in future works of their own, including lectures, press releases, reviews, textbooks or reprint books.

It is understood that permission to reproduce will be waived at the time of publication by the following statement, which will be included in the Proceedings of the International Water Conference®: "Rights to reprint articles in this publication may be granted, provided that written permission from the author and a statement of the prospective publisher's intent are received by the IWC and that the IWC grants written permission to the prospective publisher."

Authors are expected to write a paper as well as prepare a PowerPoint presentation, along with as a closure to the Discusser’s comments and questions. The author (or co-author) is expected to attend the conference in person to deliver their paper. Authors are also expected to commit to the timelines and due dates for all submittals.

Commercialism Policy: The IWC requires papers to be non-commercial and limits trade names or logos to a single use in papers and presentations. Generic identification is required for all products and companies. Authors selected for presentation must register through normal conference registration procedures.
