ESWP presents a Continuing Education Fair

Need PDHs? ESWP will offer you the chance to earn seven credit hours on September 7 at our Continuing Ed Fair.  Visit our Events page to view the sessions presented in the Transportation, Environmental and Industrial tracks.  We have a great program with more than 20 different sessions to choose from, all in the convenient location of downtown Pittsburgh.  Reserve now as space is limited!

Annual Banquet Highlights

The Annual Awards Banquet took place on February 18th and was attended by over 400 members and their guests.  The dinner was enjoyed by all and the program that followed included University of Pittsburgh and CMU Awards, the presentation of the Engineer, Projects of the Year and Metcalf Awards.  Folks then listened intently to Buddy Hobart, founder of Solutions21.  You can view the banquet video here.

Award Nominations now being accepted!

Nominations for ESWP Engineer of the Year and ESWP Project of the Year are due by January 8, 2016, and can be submitted by any member of ESWP, its affiliated technical societies or member companies. The Committee will seek candidates that exhibit evidence of leadership, innovation, and service to the engineering profession and society.  Awards will be presented in a ceremony during the ESWP Annual Banquet on Thursday February 18, 2016.  For more information and the nomination form, go here.

Greater PGH Arts Council Tour

Tom Leech PHLF

ESWP sends a big thanks to member Tom Leech for volunteering to speak at the Sept 25 Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council walking tour, which hosted  many international visitors.

From the GPAC: “It was a tremendous success, and I think that we made a great connection with the Nepali and Bhutanese community. Your talk was outstanding, and I loved hearing how you described the bridge like a backbone; your enthusiasm for bridges and Pittsburgh history was clearly evident.”

Thank you Tom!

Welcome to the new ESWP website!

We have been hard at work over the last several months redesigning a site that is dynamic, modern and scalable to fit all of your devices, including handhelds and portables. Please spend some time browsing our new layout and let us know what you like and where we may still need to make improvements.  One thing we learned for sure through this conversion: we have an extensive website filled with a lot of information that serves a variety of stakeholders.  Like all active websites, we will continue to work on improvements as we move forward.  In the meantime, enjoy the newly designed ESWP website and please share your feedback with us!
