The program is set up to help kids deepen their understanding in engineering, math, science and technology. Alyssa’s class has been learning a lot about engineering in science this year, so she has been super excited to dive into this STEM program after school. ESWP Dining Event Recap
BIG Thanks to ESWP Directors Bob Czerniewski and Jennifer Nolan-Kremm for participating in the March installment of the âBoard Serves Youâ luncheon. 60 guests attended todayâs luncheon in the ESWP Members Dining Room, and Chef Kevin delivered entrees from a select menu with choice like Medallions of Tenderloin, Virginia Spots, and Veal Milanese and others. These monthly events are a great way for members and guests to gather and enjoy a great lunch all while supporting ESWP! Look for the April âBoard Serves Youâ luncheon coming soon!
‘The Board Serves You’ Update
Our first âThe Board Serves Youâ luncheon was a huge success! More than 70 guests enjoyed lunch on February 28, served to them by celebrity servers ESWP President Dan Cessna and ESWP Director Michelle Antantis. IBC News!
Congratulations to ESWP Member Victor E. Bertolina, P.E., of SAI Consulting Engineers, Inc. on his induction as an IBC Honorary Member. âVicâ has served on the IBC Executive Committee for more than 30 years, and served as General Chair of the conference in 1991. In 2009 the International Bridge Conference Executive Committee created an Honorary Membership Award to recognize the contributions of previous Committee Members with significant service to the International Bridge Conference. This designation is based upon the ESWP bylaws, and membership category of the same name, and the qualifications are, the nominee must be a member of the Executive Committee for at least 25 years and must have served in the capacity of General Chairman. This award has only been presented only six times in its existence. We are pleased to recognize Victor E. Bertolina, P.E. with this special designation. Vic received his special lapel pin at the ESWP Annual Banquet on February 15, 2017.

ESWP Annual Banquet Recap
Thanks to the more than 420 guests who attended ESWPâs 133rd Annual Banquet on February 15, the event was a big success. Held at the Westin Hotel, the evening was filled with good food and fellowship, uplifting messages and entertaining presentations. Congratulations to all of the award recipients in our Project of the Year program as well as ESWPâs Engineer of the Year, Jim Foringer of PennDOT District 11-0, and a special recognition for Dr. Deb Lange upon receiving ESWPâs Metcalf Award, the first female to do so in the history of the 53-year old award.
ESWP Announces 2016 Award Winners
Congratulations to all of the 2016 ESWP Award recipients, starting with our Engineer of the Year: Jim Foringer, Assistant District Executive-Construction for PennDOT 11-0. Our Projects of the Year recipients are as follows: in the Commercial category, we are pleased to recognize UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex; in the Industrial category, we are pleased to recognize the Center Township Potable Water Source of Supply Transmission and Interim Water Treatment Facility; in the Innovative Construction Methods, we are pleased to recognize Milton-Madison Bridge Project; in the Sustainable category, we are pleased to recognize Lower Hill Infrastructure; and finally, in the Transportation category, we are pleased to recognize Hulton Bridge. All of these awards will be presented at the February 15 Annual Awards Banquet.
